Introducing Cheltenham’s well loved mum and baby yoga classes run by Nurturing Beginnings. Our classes are baby centered, gentle and fun social experiences for you and your baby, created with your baby’s physical and cognitive development in mind. Yoga is a lovely bonding experience for you and your baby and you will learn moves and strokes you can practice at home. Classes are small and all about creating time for you.
Baby yoga is uses gentle stretches and movements for you to do at home with your baby. It incorporates empowering you with the skills to deliver over clothes massage, breathing techniques, stretching and movements for your baby; alongside a selection of songs, rhymes, actions and sensory play. Many of the movements have been around for centuries, having their roots in traditional Indian culture and longstanding methods of infant massage.
Tell me more about Yoga…
Yoga means ‘unite’ to join together or to attach. Where better to unite and attach than within the unique parent and baby relationship. Babies are natural little yoga people. Many of the adult poses emulate what a baby naturally does! Parent and baby yoga is enhancing baby’s natural abilities; building and strengthening them. It is also said to help bring the adult back to their inner child and back to the flexibility of the baby!

Six Week Course
Over a six week period we cover a wide range of stretches and moves, massage, songs, and sensory play for a varied yet gentle and relaxing baby centered experience. This course is a lovely follow on from baby massage or fantastic on it’s own, enjoy date balls (healthy cake!) and fruit juice. The wide range of sensory experiences used during the session keep older babies engaged. Our small friendly groups are a great way to make friends for mum and baby, with the option to be added onto a whats app group for the course.
Suitable for babies from 6 weeks – crawling.
No previous yoga experience is required.
All equipment is provided, just bring a drink for yourself and your baby.
Sessions are 1 hour run from The Pavillion, Hatherley Lane, Cheltenham, GL51 6PN.
Six week course £42, booking is essential.
Spring Term 2 2019: 27th February, 6th March, 13th March, 20th March, 27th March, 3rd April
Summer Term 1: 24th April, 1st May, 8th May, 15th May, 22nd May, 5th June (Please note this skips the week of 29th May as it is half term)
Summer Term 2: 12th June, 19th June, 26th June, 3rd July, 10th July, 17th July
