Books and babies….

Reading to babies is more than just a fun thing to do, it builds bonds and boosts brain power. Even if young babies don’t understand the words you’re saying, reading aloud is still your super power benefiting their social, emotional and cognitive development.

1. Language development – put simply, reading introduces babies to words, plus rhyming and tone which really lays the foundation for speech and language development. The more words babies hear the more brain connections are formed, boosting language skills.

2. Cognitive growth – reading books stimulates babies brain, encouraging the development of memory and attention span. The colours, pictures and interactive textures are perfect for stimulating them to learn about the world around them.

3. Emotional bonding – the comfort of your voice, the closeness of your body and the security of your lap is so powerful in strengthening your bond. This builds trust & security which is crucial for emotional development.

4. Instilling a love of books  – who doesn’t want their child to love getting lost in a good book, the perfect escape and a powerful learning tool. It is never too young to introduce babies to books and create a lifelong habit.
